Overview

The Upgrade/Stand Alone version can be used to enable all features of P2 Flow in combination with an existing license of MXF Import QT or to use it standalone with a limited set of features. Please review the feature list below for details.
About P2 FlowP2Flow

P2 Flow is a comprehensive metadata editor for the Panasonic P2 format on the Mac OS X platform and it also integrates seamlessly with Final Cut Pro through a unique set of workflow features.

P2 Flow takes advantage of the native MXF file access in conjunction with MXF Import QT that allows to send the native MXF media directly to Final Cut Pro. With MXF Import QT you can edit the footage in Final Cut Pro straightaway without the need to pass it through the conversion process with Log and Transfer. In addition to the native MXF integration you can also send offline clips to Final Cut Pro and still batch ingest them with Log and Transfer or you can even freely mix your selection of native MXF and QuickTime MOV assets. For example you can send all spanned clips in offline mode to Final Cut Pro and ingest them as one single media file but also keep all other assets as native MXF clips in your project. No other application provides this kind of tight compatibility for a free choice between a native MXF and Final Cut Pro's standard Log and Transfer workflow.

All P2 metadata will be available in your Final Cut Pro project with both workflow modes and it's also possible to dynamically update the metadata in your Final Cut Pro project if you change it at a later point in P2 Flow. All changes are saved in the original P2 XML and fully comply with the P2 metadata specifications from Panasonic. Like this it is guaranteed that the metadata will be also available in other P2 compatible applications and systems. P2 Flow unleashes the full feature set of tapeless P2 metadata workflows. About P2 Flow CM

P2 Flow CM is a contextual menu item for Mac OS X to send single or multiple P2 volumes to Final Cut Pro with just two mouse clicks.

P2 Flow CM is a free addition to MXF Import QT whereas the full feature P2 Flow application establishes a new era of file based P2 workflows on the Mac. The contextual menu can be enabled through a custom installation of MXF Import QT (please review the PDF manual of MXF Import QT for details). It has been designed for being the fastest and easiest P2 import solution for Final Cut Pro. It provides pure, native access to the original MXF files without the need for converting or referencing to the QuickTime MOV format. P2 Flow CM automates the linking of separate P2 MXF video and audio files in Final Cut Pro while providing full metadata mapping (please review our metadata PDF documentation). P2 Flow CM works with P2 media that has been transferred to the hard disk or you can directly work on the P2 card. It is the perfect tool for fast P2 based news editing.
