ActiveRaid has been designed for Broadcast and Post Production environments.  The units are optimised for Activesan, Apple Xsan, Mac OS X and Quantum StorNext.

Active Storage has worked hard to make their ActiveRaid system an “out of the box” ready to use product.  Simply install it into your equipment rack, attach the necessary power, Ethernet and Fibre Cables, install the admin CD and your storage is ready to view.   This system is versatile and can be used across both PC and Mac platforms with great ease, ideal for those post houses who have a combination of editing systems.

The ActiveRaid was designed with simplicity and ease of use in mind, as well as the integration with Apple infrastructures.  The systems are packed with sophisticated features, some of which not seen anywhere else, but at a cost effective price point that is appealing to everyone.

Active Storage Ethernet management ports works independently, but offers fully redundant fail-over if an external Ethernet switch port or RAID controller port should fail.  The SAS expansion port on each RAID controller offers a dual, bi-directional 3GB/s throughput allowing the secondary expansion system to provide full speed operation even when connected to a primary Raid.

ActiveRaid was designed to deliver the best performance in it’s class for high-volume and high-demand media and Apple applications.  Whether the system is installed to support a Apple Xserve, Xsan or supporting a large server, there’s one thing you can guarantee is that it will get the job done.

ActiveRaid is available in 16TB, 32TB and 48TB capacities and each raid unit supports additional expansion chassis to increase capacity even further.

A lower cost version, ActiveRaid ES is also available which uses the same underlying technology with a single, dual ported fibre channel controller and business class SATA drives.
