Partners converge on Boxer stand at BVE 2018

Boxer, a leading a UK solution provider for the video, film and TV markets, has acknowledged the importance of BVE 2018 to its growth strategy by sharing Stand JO8 with best-of-breed regional and global partners dedicated to resolving the uncertainties surrounding disruptive technology trends by providing trusted, objective guidance for those about to navigate the accelerating rapids of IP Video and AI.

Boxer Systems Sales Manager Peter Jones said, “The moves from analogue to digital and tape to file-based will seem almost quaint compared to what’s about to happen with IP video and, increasingly, artificial intelligence (AI). Many are cautiously optimistic what the initial published variants of SMPTE 2110 will unleash on the broadcast industry, while others remain uncertain as to how to grapple with the very big decisions that will soon be – and in many cases already are - required.

“We, with our partners, address both camps. We provide objective, independent guidance with the sole purpose of steering our customers to safe and profitable harbours. Boxer’s driving goal is to ensure that our customers are not impeded by antiquated technologies, systems, or working practices, but are instead using the right tools and technologies to take them in the right direction. It’s all about helping our customers manage change.”

In addition to numerous Boxer sales, technical, and visionary representatives, partners from leading brands such as Ooyala, Grass Valley/SAM, Telestream, Newtek, Leader, Adder, Dell-EMC, plus Embrionix, V-Nova, Colorfront, and IPtec will be on hand on Boxer’s BVE stand to discuss how a wide range products are not only interoperable using SMPTE 2110 standards, but are already poised for shipping to undertake their game-changing roles.

NDI protocol products and applications will also feature alongside examples of SMPTE IP infrastructure, monitoring, and test and measurement developments.

AI will also feature on the stand, with practical examples of real-world, highly practical applications in content management and search.

Jones concludes, “Enabling our customers to do more with less while their competitors do less that costs more requires in-depth knowledge, hands-on experience, and practical creativity – all of which are Boxer hallmarks.

“In other words, we’re a safe pair of really smart hands, but we don’t do it alone. Our carefully vetted partners all lead from the front, thus ensuring that Boxer customers receive a top-class solution with first-class support for any given requirement.”

Boxer partner initiative adds award-winning Colorfront

Boxer, a leading UK solution provider for the video, film and TV markets, has partnered with NMF, the exclusive distributor and reseller channel driver of world-class Colorfront software products across Latin America and select territories in the APAC and EMEA regions.

Colorfront is the Academy® and Emmy® Award-winning software developer of high-performance, on-set digital daily and transcoding systems for motion pictures, broadcast, OTT and commercials. The company is best known in recent years for Transkoder, an acclaimed mastering system for digital cinema and high-end UHDTV production.

Boxer Systems Commercial Director Jayson Chase said, “Colorfront has for many years been a pioneer of high-end digital processing systems for feature film and TV productions, consistently meeting the exacting standards of those environments. Partnering with NMF and Colorfront will greatly enhance our efforts to devise systems for the ultimate in, for example, UHD and HDR delivery, the latter of which in particular is rapidly gaining momentum.”

NMF Managing Director Nacho Mazzini added, “The HDR trend is growing, and in that space, Colorfront is king. Colorfront’s mastering system is used by every major Hollywood studio and perfectly complements Boxer’s current range of post-production offerings.

“I am very impressed with the Boxer set up. I’ve known Jayson Chase and Sales Manager Peter Jones from many years in the business. The combination of Boxer expertise and Colorfront’s technology will empower post facilities and broadcasters to create faster deliverables, and at the same time provide them with the right tools and top-notch product support for the emerging HDR market.”

Mazzini and a Colorfront team will be present at BVE 2018 in London from 27 February – 1 March on the Boxer stand, J08.

Boxer boosts encoding excellence with IPtec partnership

Boxer, a leading a UK solution provider for the video, film and TV markets, has announced a partnership with IPtec, a manufacturer of powerful encoding solutions for news gathering, studio-to-studio links, and studio-to-broadcast head-end links.

Jayson Chase, Commercial Director at Boxer Systems, explained, “IPtec customers in a variety of markets are similar in one major regard - they benefit from IPtec’s uncompromising, zero-tolerance focus on quality. IPtec products offer across-the-board scalability, efficiency, and the highest possible quality, which makes them an ideal complement to the integrated system solutions we provide to our customers.”

With offices in Pleasanton, California, and Copenhagen, Denmark, IPtec encoder products are designed to closely match today’s market and application requirements. The company’s latest product introduction, the VNP-100, is a standalone, low-latency encoder that supports bidirectional, real-time video and audio signal transmission over IP networks.

IPtec Vice President of Sales Glen Green said, “Boxer is highly regarded as a trusted partner for projects large and small, and this partnership will open many mutual doors in an already vibrant IP networking market. Our respective expertise in IP-based products, systems, and solutions make both companies more formidable as market-leading forces.”

IPtec CEO and President Steffen Rasmussen will be on Boxer’s Stand J08 at BVE in London from 27 February – 1 March to discuss the latest products and technology.
